OIC hit and run: Driver released

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Navindu Ratnayake, the driver of the defender arrested for causing an accident in Bambalapitiya claiming the life of the Borella Traffic Police OIC Ananda Sagara, was released on two sureties of Rs.500,000 each by Colombo Additional Magistrate Chalani Perera. Sri Lanka Police informed court today (April 01), that the Attorney General had advised them to file a case against the suspect at the High Court under section 298 of the penal code for causing death by negligence. The case will be called again on April 22nd.
