Dimuth Karunaratne caught under the influence is now out

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Dimuth Karunaratne who was arrested for causing an accident while under the influence was released on two sureties of Rs.100,000 each. Additional Magistrate Saliya Channa Abeyratne temporarily suspended his driving license. The case was postponed to May 2nd. Dimuth Karunaratne, addressed social media and apologized for his actions and said he was well aware that it was ‘utterly unbecoming of a Sri Lankan National Cricketer and apologized to the owner of the three-wheeler and driver who sustained minor injuries. His statement stressed he had followed the due legal process and had abided by all formalities therein required. He also promised to assist with whatever legal obligations necessary from his end.
