Extreme heat continues in North-West, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Gampaha, Hambantota and Monaragala Districts

Colombo (News 1st): The Meteorological Department has issued a heat index advisory. It reads; the temperature felt on the human body is expected to increase up to ‘Extreme Caution’ level in most parts of North-Western Province, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Gampaha, Hambantota and Monaragala Districts tomorrow (March 31). The Meteorological Department requests the public living in those respective areas to stay hydrated and to limit strenuous outdoor activities. Meanwhile, Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Center Pradeep Kodippilli noted that they have taken steps to distribute water to several areas during the dry weather.
