Governor Salley praises drug crackdown

COLOMBO (News 1st) – A new building of the Thawane Primary school in Kalutara was declared open yesterday under the patronage of the Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley. The building had been constructed at a cost of Rs. 19.5 million. Western province education minister Ranjith Somawansa and several others attended this event. Speaking at the occasion the Western province governor stated that 107kg of drugs was found in the Iranian ship and that the police had nabbed 1500 kg of drugs after the president took over the police. He stated that our country has become a center for drugs. He further mentioned that parents have a big responsibility to save guard children from it.
