PCoI to examine petition against State Pharmaceuticals Corporation

COLOMBO(News 1st) - The Presidential Commission appointed to investigate allegations of fraud and corruption at state institutions over the past four years commenced examining evidence today (March 25). Accordingly, the petition submitted by the Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Union on fraud and corruption at the State Pharmaceutical Corporation is to be examined today (March 25). The hearing of evidence will be conducted by a group of lawyers including a president's counsel at the Attorney General's office. The commission was formed on January 22nd using a special gazette announcement by the President Maithripala Sirisena. The commission received over 1142 complaints by the deadline (March 19).
