AG's department prepares documents for Singapore for extradition of Arjuna Mahendran

Colombo (News 1st): The Attorney General's Department states that steps are being taken to forward several other files to Singapore, in relation to the extradition of former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran. A senior official at the AG's Department said this measure was taken at the request of the Singaporean Government in order to file charges against him. The Singaporean government has requested several documents including the charges that can be presented against Arjuna Mahendran. The Attorney General's Department stated that steps will be taken to forward these documents through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the extradition of Mahendran. A senior officer of the Attorney General's Department further stated that the special committee appointed to look into the Central Bank bond scam and the extradition of Arjuna Mahendran to Sri Lanka, are continuing their operations in this regard. While the Attorney General's Department acts in this regard, should steps not be taken to publicize the bond commission report? The people of this country are waiting for the day this report, currently in the possession of responsible authorities, will be released to the public domain.
