Colombo (News 1st): A discussion will take place today (March 22) at 4 pm in the Mannar Magistrate’s Court regarding the recommencement of excavation work at the Mannar mass grave.
Special Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) Dr. Saminda Rajapaksa who is in charge of the Mannar excavation process noted that all officials who were part of the excavation process have been called for today’s meeting.
The carbon dating report compiled by the Beta Analytics Centre in Florida was handed over to Mannar Magistrate T. Sarvanaraja recently. It was revealed that the excavated skeletons belonged to people who lived between 350 – 600 years ago.
The Mannar mass grave excavation has so far unearthed 335 skeletal remains of people, some of which are of minors.
