SLFP and SLPP 2nd round of talks on new alliance today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The second round of talks on the formation of a new alliance between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna begins today(March 21). The meetings are to be held at the office of the Opposition leader. The first round of talks was held on March 14th. Speaking to News 1st, former SLFP General Secretary Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa noted both sides have a positive attitude towards the discussions. The SLFP will be represented by the General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara, Thilanga Sumathipala and Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa, while Chairman of SLPP Professor G.L. Peiris, Dullas Alahapperuma, and Jagath Wellawatta are to represent the SLPP.
