Sri Lanka needs strong leadership-Gotabhaya Rajapaksa

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Another seminar under the "Eliya" programme was held in Badulla yesterday(March 17). The seminar was held under the auspices of former Secretary of Defence, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa shared his thoughts on the economic plight of Sri Lanka. He noted that the government institutions are in a terrible state, they should be led to productivity and private sector should be strengthened. The government and private sector hand in hand would generate employment opportunities for all the unemployed. He added that the increase in employment opportunities would eventually lead to improved lifestyles. He stressed that a developed country provides improved quality of living. He added that for all these to occur a strong leadership and a stable government with compatible policies were crucial. He finally added that with an unstable government the foreign investors would never show interest in Sri Lanka.
