Suren Ratwatte to be questioned by Presidential Commission of Inquiry

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Suren Ratwatte is to be summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) on irregularities at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering, and Mihin Lanka. The commission will be questioning him over the cancellation of Airbus A350-900 leases in 2016. We previously reported on the loss caused to the state by SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka between years 2009 and 2017. It was revealed that SLA incurred a net loss of Rs. 143.23 billion between 2009 and 2017, while Mihin Lanka incurred a Rs. 19.79 Billion net loss during the same period. These details were revealed at the PCoI by Yasantha Dissanayake, Head of Financial Management at SriLankan Airlines.
