Recovered diamond to be analysed by the University of Peradeniya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The recovered diamond worth more than Rs. 5000 mn will be sent to the University of Peradeniya for further analysis. The News 1st team confirmed this with the media spokesperson of Police, SP Ruwan Gunasekara. The Police media spokesperson added that the diamond will be sent to the geological department of the University of Peradeniya after obtaining a court order. The diamond which was stolen based on a plan devised by the arrested underworld kingpin "Makandure Madush", was recovered from Panadura on the 5th. The diamond was in the possesion of Indika Kalum alias "Kauma".
