Colombo (News 1st): The Institute of Internal Auditors held the 8th national conference today (March 12). The conference centered around the theme 'Emerge or Submerge, being agile in a transformative age'. Many foreign and local dignitaries, including the Director-General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, Sarath Jayamanne were present at the conference. Speaking at the conference, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy noted that the new digital economy represents a fundamental shift in the business cycle and is no ordinary disruption. He added that this new reality means increased market disruption with increasing unpredictability. Coomaraswamy went onto note that in today's world, alignment is not enough and constant synchronization needs to be the new way of doing things. He added that new strategies need to be consistently and rapidly synchronized with new skills, capabilities, and organizational structures.
