Deputy Inspector General – Police Traffic Division Attorney-at-Law Ajith Rohana noted they have decided to take extra measures to stop the culture of driving defenders around night clubs under the influence of alcohol.

He also noted that the main suspect, a son of a superintendent of Police, had been remanded after being produced before the court following the close scrutiny of the video and personal evidence.

He added that rumours are being spread across social media by several users regarding this matter and the police had acquired the IP addresses of these individuals. He stressed that the police intends to produce them in court as witnesses, so they could inform judges how they came to the assumption that someone else was driving the defender.
