President aligns four government institutions to their ministries

President aligns four government institutions to their ministries

COLOMBO (News 1st) – With effect from March 7th 2019, President Maithripala Sirisena has transferred the authority of several government institutions to their respective ministries which were not under their jurisdiction until now.

The government institutes were assigned as follows,

  • Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka is now under the Ministry of Defence.
  • SriLankan Airlines Ltd. and its subsidiaries are now under the Ministry of Finance.
  • Ranmihithenna Mahinda Rajapaksa National Tele-cinema Park is now under the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs which was initially under the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media.
  • The Sri Lanka Telecom and its subsidiaries and associates are under the Ministry of Telecommunications, Foreign Employment and Sports.
