Police and Triforces to get actively involved in drug eradication : President

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena noted that the Sri Lanka Police and the Triforces will be actively engaged in the drug eradication and control program from April onwards. This statement was made at a meeting held with the governors at the presidential secretariat. In line with the drug eradication and control program, an oath is scheduled to be taken on April 3rd at all workplaces with the main event taking place at the Independence Square in Colombo. The President stated that the underworld has formed its own government in the country and it affects everyone as bribes are paid almost to everyone. He added that even the buses have to pay a bribe to make their trips; showing how far corruption has rooted in. The head of the state declared that he has decided to personally get involved in the tasks of the ministries.
