Colombo (News 1st): The CID and the Attorney General's Department today informed the court, that there is adequate evidence to file charges against DIG Nalaka de Silva who was in charge of the Police Terrorist Investigation Division, and who was arrested over an alleged plot to assassinate high profile individuals in the country. The case was called up before Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake. Accordingly, Fort Magistrate ordered Nalaka de Silva to be further remanded until the 19th of this month. Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peris said it has been revealed that Nalaka de Silva had maintained close contacts with Makandure Madush who was arrested in Dubai and singer Amal Perera and had taken steps to cover up any evidence of their connections. It was also revealed in court that while he was the Director of the Police Terrorist Investigations Division, a police officer of that division had introduced Namal Kumara the operations director of the Anti-Corruption Force, to a former LTTE leader named Pushparaj. Dileep Peris added there is evidence to show that Nalaka de Silva had shown Namal Kumara the residence of Assistant Superintendent of Police Prasanna Alwis and told Namal Kumara to murder him with a weapon provided to him.
