Teachers Union to take action against teargas attack

COLOMBO (News1st) - The Ceylon Teachers Services Union states that a request will be made from President Maithripala Sirisena to conduct an investigation on the tear gas and water cannons that were fired to contain the teachers' protest. The protest was organized opposite the Ministry of Education in Battaramulla. General Secretary of the Union, Mahinda Jayasinghe noted that a written notification will be submitted to the President on the matter. The protest was organized on the 28th of last month citing several issues including wage anomalies.
