Little Peoples' association formed

Colombo (News 1st) An organization named the Little Peoples' Association was established today in Moratuwa. The many challenges and hardships this group faced in society is what inspired them to form this association. Many people from across the island came together for this event. The event was held under the patronage of the officials of the Department of Social Services. The appointment of office bearers of the Little Peoples' Association of Sri Lanka took place today. Talking at the event the convener said "Our height is not unusual. There is no deficiency in us. We are equal to every other human being. It is very hard for us to get a job because they discriminate us. It's even challenging for us to go to school". Continuing "The bank counter is out of reach for us. We need someone's help to ring the bell in the bus. They look for faults in us to laugh about. We do not need anyone's sympathy. Just give us the respect we deserve in society". They ask the general Public to treat them as equals to any other human being. Thilak Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the Department of Social Services said that they condemned the referring of an individual or a group of individuals by the structure of their bodies. The first thing that we need to do is to make sure they get the respect they deserve from society.
