Colombo (News 1st): A series of interactive workshops carried out by News 1st with the objective of ”Molding future leaders” commenced today, at the Naiwala Marapola College in Gampaha. The program was based on the theme: Village, School, Temple, and Police.
The programs are aimed at building a united, disciplined and spiritual future generation. The Marapola College located in the Minuwangoda educational zone, Gampaha was the first school selected for this program.
Students of the college and other surrounding schools attended the workshop. Teachers, parents and past pupils were among those who participated.
Vennawaththe Rathanajothi Thero, DIG of Western Province (North) Deshabandu Tennakoon, and renowned senior artiste Sathischandra Edirisinghe spoke to the students about topics that are of importance to mould future leaders. Wasantha Pradeep Masinghage, Manager of News 1st also spoke to the students about future career building.
The students engaged in several interactive sessions. The Sri Lanka College of Pediatricians also sent two of their representatives to inform the students about health-related matters.
