Colombo (News 1st): Deputy Solicitor General Dilan Ratnayake informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate that extensive investigations are underway to uncover the mastermind behind the Wasim Thajudeen assassination.
He added investigations are taking place to determine the relationships maintained by the suspects in the case, former DIG Anura Senanayake, IP Sumith Dhammika Perera and former Colombo Chief JMO Professor Ananda Samarasekera, with the mastermind of the assassination.
Though the mastermind has not been identified as yet, steps have been taken to call for a Government Analysts report on 04 suspicious vehicles that had left Temple Trees on the day of the assassination.
In addition, a Government Analysts report has also been called for on the biological samples recovered from the vehicle that is said to have been in pursuit of Thajudeen's car on the day of the murder.
The Deputy Solicitor General further said, based on the evidence recovered, steps will be taken to file charges against all three suspects.
The prosecution was ordered to submit a progress report to court on June 27th.
