COLOMBO (News 1st) - It has been four years since the infamous bond scam devastated the Sri Lankan economy. Several important persons made comments regarding the incident yesterday(February 27).
Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa also shared his idea on the matter following an event in Colombo yesterday(February 27).
Mahinda Rajapaksa noted that it is mandatory to take legal action against the perpetrators of the bond scam. This must follow the soon to be finalized investigation. He added that it was unethical to form new courts in order to politically manipulate results for personal gains.
He added that a committee was appointed to discuss the formation of an alliance.
Mahinda Rajapaksa shared his views on the 20th amendment as well.
He noted "We do not agree with the 20th amendment. But we are holding discussions. There is a debate on whether to abolish the executive presidency or not."
