The first priority for an expressway should have been between Colombo and Kandy

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage & Kandy Development Lakshman Kiriella commented on highways of the country. He noted that the main expectation of the people in the Kandy district is the Colombo - Kandy expressway adding that if a highway was to be constructed, the first priority should have been the Colombo-Kandy expressway. The Minister went onto say that expressways, airports, and harbours were built. He also said that they have no issue in building them in Galle and Matara. Meanwhile, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka claimed that a large sum of money was spent on the expressways to be only used by the rich people.
