J'pura Management Faculty Closed Due to Ragging Incidents

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Management faculty of the Sri Jayawardenapura University has been closed down till further notice. Chancellor of the University Professor Sampath Amarathunge noted that the faculty was closed due to a ragging incident that involved verbal harassment of the new entrants to the university leading to mental distress. The professor further said that the most recent case that led to this decision was when the senior students had not allowed the new entrants to participate in the lectures scheduled for today (February 21). All the hostel students of the Management faculty have been informed to evacuate the hostels before 7.00 am tomorrow (February 22).
