Mother and daughter die in motor accident

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A 38-year-old mother and her 03-year-old daughter died in a motor accident this morning (February 19). The police noted that the accident occurred when a three-wheeler and a lorry collided with each other in Seenimodara along the Tangalle-Matara main road. The son and the father of the same family were admitted to the hospital with severe injuries. The police noted that preliminary investigations reveal that the accident may have occurred as the father fell asleep while driving the three-wheeler. The driver of the lorry has been arrested over the incident. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
