Harin Fernando comments on the leaked footage of SL Cricket team

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A footage of an outburst that took place between the Sri Lankan cricketers inside the dressing room after the first test between South Africa is being circulated on social media. Minister of Sports Harin Fernando spoke about this at a press conference today(February 18). He noted that the Sri Lankan cricket team underwent many hardships constantly in the recent past and finally managed to score a tremendous win. Following any victory, it is customary to celebrate and express your emotions. Harin Fernando stressed that during this celebration some team members had expressed their emotions aggressively which were offensive to an extent. He added that these emotions were not expressed in front of media or public, they were shared among their own teammates. He requested everyone, particularly the media not to make a big fuss out of this trivial matter as it would discourage the team even more. He also noted that they have knowledge of how the video was leaked. "I repeat that I am not the Minister of Cricket. I am the Minister of Sports. However, I decided to express my views regarding cricket as this matter is being discussed across the island." He concluded his statement.
