UNP and SLPP will be the main contenders at the election-Sarath Fonseka

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  UNP Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka addressed the media after participating in an occasion at Kelaniya. Sarath Fonseka noted that the primary contestants for the next presidential election would be from the UNP and the Rajapaksa centred SLPP. But it is confusing as to which one of Rajapaksas will contest. However, he said that the UNP is prepared for an election and they would win. Sarath Fonseka also spoke out his ideas on forming a national government. He stressed that they will form a national government with the help of other willing parties. He added that the former regime had sixty-two ministers and sixty-five deputy ministers. Currently, the workload is carried out by thirty ministers which used to be done by over a hundred ministers, making it an impossible task. Therefore it is reasonable to increase the number of ministers and ministerial portfolios. When a journalist inquired whether he would get a ministry, he said that he might not, if he is not willing to fight for it.
