Colombo (News 1st): The Kurunegala Vishwoda National School was vested with the students under the 'Langama Pasala - Hodama Pasala' initiative. The event was held under the auspices of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The villagers obstructed the road, the Prime Minister was travelling, and staged a protest. They said that the new school that was declared opened had refused to admit students from the neighbouring areas. As a result, the Prime Minister and the invitees to the event were obstructed from entering the location where the event was being held. The police had to intervene to make way for the invitees to participate in the occasion. After much effort, the invitees managed to enter the premises of the event. The protesters dispersed after the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam promised to look into this matter.
