COLOMBO (News 1st) -Mahindananda Aluthgamage made a statement today on the arrest of "Makandare Madush". He said that according to Minister Lakshman Kiriella "Makandare Madush" could have been easily extradited to Sri Lanka. Mahindananda Aluthgamage said that after the arrest, extradition of Madush is must be done in a sensile and realistic way. However, he added that it was a shame to see worse criminals like Arjuna Mahendran who damaged the integrity of the Sri Lankan economy, at large. He noted that Arjun Mahendran is freely walking the streets of Singapore. He added that Lakshman Kiriella avoids this matter. The fact is that Arjun Mahendran's arrest will expose the bond scam. Mahendran carried out the bond scam under the instructions of         Ranil Wickremesinghe. He also stressed that Madush's phone directory is now exposed and all phone conversations have been recovered. He added that the phone directory contains the names of several ministers and MPs. Many of them are claiming credit for the arrest of "Makandure Madush". This is to distance themselves from the drug lord. Meanwhile, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court, that they were compiling facts to file charges against former Sports Minister and present MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar. The Commission informed the court, that it would seek the opinion of the Chief Justice on taking up the matter before the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar. Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered the prosecution to report the progress on the matter to court on April 30th.
