MP Chaminda Wijesiri's driver remanded following brawl with Narcotic officials

COLOMBO (News 1st): The driver of Parliamentarian Chaminda Wijesiri was remanded till February 18 th. This is following a brawl, which broke out at Bandarawela Town yesterday (Feb 10) around 06:30 pm. The altercation took place between personnel from the Police Narcotic Bureau, MP Chaminda Wijesiri, his security officer and driver. A constable attached to the PNB was injured and hospitalized following the incident. The driver of MP Chaminda Wijesiri admitted himself to the hospital claiming that he was assaulted. However, he was arrested today. He is being treated at the Badulla General Hospital under the protection of prisons officials. He is expected to be produced at an identification parade.
