COLOMBO (News 1st) – The suspects who were arrested with 110kg of heroin from Piliyandala has been remanded till the 12th of this month.
OIC of the Anti- Narcotics Unit of the Department of Excise Sandalal Pathirana said that the order was given after they were presented before the Maligakanda Magistrates Court yesterday (February 06).
He further said that they will obtain a court order permitting the detainment of the suspects for interrogation. Permission to investigate the mobile data of the suspects is also due to be obtained by court.
It was also revealed that the haul of heroin has been brought to the country from Pakistan through a sea route and Chilaw. Further, it was also confirmed that the drug kingpin named Camillus who is currently behind bars had led this drug trafficking operation.
