Group of MPs stuck inside Parliament elevator

Colombo (News1st) - A group of MPs including MP Dinesh Gunawardena and Wimal Weerawansa were stuck inside an elevator in Parliament this morning for around 15 minutes. Making a statement in Parliament, MP Weerawansa informed the speaker that around 12MPs were stuck inside the elevator awaiting assistance which did not arrive for around 15 minutes. He noted that they were highly inconvenienced by the incident. The Speaker Karu Jayasuriya apologized for the inconvenience caused to the MPs.
