COLOMBO (News 1st) – A 69-year-old woman who defrauded money under the pretense of offering foreign employment in New Zealand has been arrested in Meemana, Horana.

The Police said that the arrest was made based on a tip-off received at the Law Enforcement Unit of the Panadura division.

A sum of Rs. 295,000 which had been defrauded and 40 foreign passports were also seized at the time of the arrest. The arrested individual is a resident of Pokunuwita, Horana.

She is due to be presented before the Horana Magistrates Court today (February 07).
