Farmers affected by low prices

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Vegetable farmers in Kalpitiya are facing severe difficulties as they do not receive a fair price for their cultivation. Farmers in Kalpitiya have cultivated crops including cabbage and raddish this season. They claim that during the period where they reap the harvest that the prices of these vegetables have decreased. The farmers state that at the current prices they find it difficult to even cover the cost of farming.
