11 suspects engaged in illegal fishing apprehended

Colombo (News1st): The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 11 suspects who engaged in illegal fishing activities using banned nets in the seas off Sinnapadu, Kalpitiya yesterday (Feb 5). The navy also seized two banned nets, four dinghies and 2,487 kg of illegally caught fish. The suspects along with their belongings were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for further legal action to be taken.
