Sri Lanka ranked 13th in Asia on ease of doing business

Colombo (News 1st): Recent World Bank Reports noted that Singapore has topped the list of Asian countries on the ease of doing business with a score of 85.24. The annual report titled "Doing business" 2019 ranks economies based on how easy it is to conduct a business. Sri Lanka is ranked 13th in Asia and 100th in the world with a score of 61.22. Sri Lanka and Pakistan have moved 11 positions up the list in comparison to last year, showing gradual development. Singapore has also been ranked the second best country in the world to run a business. South Korea follows close with a score of 84.14 as the second best country in Asia. Being the world’s fastest growing economy, India has seen enormous development to be ranked 77th globally. India moved up 23 positions in the ease of doing business report in comparison to last year, implementing reforms in two areas, such as "starting a business" and "dealing with construction permits". The world’s second-largest economy and largest exporter, China, has seen significant growth in its economy and has been ranked 46th globally. Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar,, and Bangladesh are the lowest ranked Asian countries in the ease of doing business report.
