COLOMBO (News 1st) – Five people have been arrested over the accident that resulted in the death of a mother and injured her daughter when a merry-go-round crashed on them at an amusement park in Veyangoda yesterday (February 04).

The Police said that the arrested suspects were individuals who maintained the amusement park located in Naiwala, Veyangoda. A 47-year-old mother died as a result of this tragic accident.

Her 13-year-old daughter who was receiving treatment at the ICU of the Gampaha hospital for being severely injured was later transferred to the National Hospital for further treatment.
