Firearm manufacturing plant raided in Nikaweratiya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A 47-year-old was arrested in a raid conducted in an illegal firearm manufacturing plant that operated in Gonagaswewa, Nikaweratiya. The Police noted that the raid was carried out based on a tip-off received yesterday (February 04). A locally manufactured firearm, a partially made 12 bore shotgun and several parts of firearms were recovered during the raid. The arrested individual has been identified as a resident of Nikaweratiya. He is due to be presented before the Nikaweratiya Magistrates Court today (February 05).
