8 University students who posed on Kiralagala Stupa released

Colombo (News 1st): The eight suspects who were arrested for taking photographs on top of the historical Kiralagala Stupa were released today (Feb 5). The suspects were fined Rs. 50,000 each after being produced before the Kebithigollawa Magistrates Court. The suspects are final year students at the Engineering faculty of the South Eastern University. Horowpathana Police filed a case against the students under three separate charges, and they were ordered to pay Rs. 1000 for two of the charges as costs for the state.
