COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Cricket All Rounder Thisara Perera has written a letter to the CEO of SLC Ashley De Silva, expressing his disappointment and concern for Sri Lanka Cricket, as well as for himself as a senior player. The letter was in response to a series of posts on social media, which were directed at him. In the letter, Thisara Perera denied allegations of him "running after high ranking officials and ministers, asking them to retain him in the national side". Perera writes that he always adhered to the selection process of SLC and never questioned their decisions. Perera also pointed out that these kinds of accusations will "make it hard to prevent the general public from believing and further slandering in various ways". The letter reads that there has been a general sense of unease in the dressing room and that the environment is unpleasant for the youngsters - especially when two senior players are not on the same page. He also stated that these posts are created to dishearten and shake his confidence. Perera also said: "We are at the verge of a world cup. Our focus and attention should be on performing well instead of bickering over social media on pointless issues. We need to go forward as a unit and not as a team of factions. The leadership and seniors of the team must set an example for this. " In his letter, Thisara Perera called on Ashley De Silva to intervene in the matter and said that he (Perera) will be available for an inquiry if necessary. Complete letter attached below;
