Research on 15 treatments to tackle Sena menace

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Agriculture is currently researching 15 possible remedies for the Sena caterpillar infestation. Head of the special unit to eradicate the Sena caterpillar, Anura Wijethunge said that it would be of pride if this issue could be resolved using a local solution. He further urged the farmers to inform the department on any possible method to tackle the Sena caterpillar. Wijethunge added that the five insecticides which are being used to control the caterpillar have shown positive signs.
