COLOMBO (News 1st) - Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri noted that the report of the committee appointed to investigate the recent unruly behaviour in parliament will be submitted to the speaker next Tuesday (January 22).
The deputy speaker further noted that the report will then be handed over by the speaker to the Attorney General.
Actions to be taken against the MPs who were accused through the report will then be decided by the Attorney General. The report has raised accusations against MPs of the UPFA, UNP and a parliamentarian of the JVP.
This committee was appointed by the speaker in order to investigate the unruly behaviour in parliament on the 15th,16th and the 17th of November 2018. The committee is headed by deputy speaker Ananda Kumarasiri.
