Burnt corpse discovered in Colpetty house

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Based on a tip-off received by the 119 hotline, at around 11.45 am on the 19th of January, the Kollupitiya police has begun investigating the charred remains of an individual, found inside a house in Galle Face court. Initial investigations revealed that the victim had been tied onto a bed and had then been burned to death. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Senaka Sri Lal Jayasinghe, a resident of Hokandara North, Arangala. Following the magisterial inquiry, the remains were transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. The Kollupitiya police are carrying out further investigations.
