Colombo (News1st): Statements have been recorded from ten people in connection to the Hekitta Shooting that occurred on the 13th of January.
Police state that they are yet to make any arrests regarding the incident. Police suspect that an underworld gang by the name ‘Kennedy Gumma’, connected to smuggling drugs, had carried out the shooting.
Two people lost their lives in the shooting. The victims were aged 28 and 33 years. The Police noted that a group of people who had arrived at the location in a motor vehicle shot the two victims who were traveling in another vehicle.
It is also believed that the shooting took place due to a dispute between two underwold gangs (Kennedy Gumma and Selvi’s members).
The victims were identified as members of Selvi’s Gang. Police said investigations will be carried out based on CCTV footage.
