Death penalty issued for 28 year old drug trafficker

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An individual arrested in connection to trafficking Cocaine was sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court today (January 17).  The 28-year-old, a resident of Kohuwela is a father of two. The Attorney General had filed indictments against him for drug trafficking with over 62kg of Cocaine in possession. Announcing his decision Colombo High Court judge, Gihan Kulathunge said that the suspect was guilty of all charges. The suspect was arrested by the Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau in 2012 in an operation carried out in Kohuwela.
