Colombo (News1st): Foreign investors have sold Rs. 3.6 billion during the week which ended on Friday (January 11) from the government securities market. The stock market saw a net outflow of Rs. 753 million during the same period, bringing the total outflow for the year so far up to Rs. 10.3 billion and Rs. 860 million, respectively.
During 2018, Sri Lanka’s government securities market lost Rs. 160 billion while the Colombo Stock Exchange saw a net outflow of Rs. 22.8 billion. The outstanding stock of T-bills and T-bonds held by foreigners have decreased by 6.8%, to Rs. 154.2 million from Rs. 164.5 billion as at 1st January 2019.
Sri Lanka's total foreign reserves declined to US$ 6,936.35 million as at 31st December 2018 when compared with US$ 7,005.32 million as at 30th November 2018.
