COLOMBO (News 1st) – The government is due to issue E-Health cards to the general public from next month.
The Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Rajitha Senarathne said that the first phase of the E-Health card distribution will commence from the Bandaragama district hospital.
The E-Health card is due to be distributed among the public within a period of six months.
The card which contains the complete health condition of a particular patient will allow doctors from anywhere in the country to expedite the required treatment.
The Minister further noted that almost 500 hospitals have been computerized at present.
