Colombo (News1st): A fire erupted at a state-owned farm in Kotagala, Hatton yesterday (January 09).

The Dimbula police said the farm is managed by the Livestock Development Board. The fire which erupted at around 2.00 PM yesterday (January 9), destroyed around 25 acres of the reserve.

The dry weather condition in the central hills and the strong winds caused the fire to spread rapidly.

According to our correspondent, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The Dimbula Police is conducting further investigations.
