"I've always fought for truth and justice" -Azath Salley

Colombo (News 1st) - The newly appointed Governor of the Western Province, Azath Salley, assumed duties in his new role today. He assumed duties as the 8th governor of the Western Province following religious observances. Governor Salley served as a member of the Colombo Municipal Council till the 4th of January and has also served as a Provincial Councillor. He was a Deputy Mayor and an Acting Mayor of the CMC in the past and was also a Central Provincial Councillor. A number of Parliamentarians and Provincial Councillors were present when he assumed duties today. Speaking to the media he stated that he was a person who always fought for truth and justice and no matter what he is ready to continue this. He noted that his Governors office will not judge people who come to it based on their party or race. The Position of Governor holds a special place in the political hierarchy of this country. The Governor comes after the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, Chief Justice, Former President and Member of Cabinet in the order of hierarchy.
