Day care centers and school transport services to be registered with NCPA

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Child Protection Authority has decided to register all day care centers and school transport services. The Chairman of the authority, H. M. Abeyrathne notes that the decision was taken in order to supervise whether or not these services are conducted in a child-friendly and secure manner. He said that complaints have been lodged on children being abused at daycare centers. Further, the educational qualifications and the mental condition of the employees at daycare centers are also to be investigated.
