Reuters - Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were among those who turned out to honor actor Sam Elliott as he put his hand and footprints in cement at Hollywood's Chinese Theatre on Monday (January 7). The honor for the "A Star is Born" actor came on the eve of Elliott celebrating the 50th year of his acting career. In the film, Cooper plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine who discovers and falls in love with, struggling artist Ally (Lady Gaga). Elliott stars as Jackson Maine's brother, Bobby. Actor-director Cooper told the crowds: "In the movie, Jack may struggle with telling his brother how he feels about him but I've got no problem telling you Sam just how much I love and admire you. You are my brother. You've received many honors in your career, I know you'll receive many more but this one, my friend, is written in concrete." A humbled and teary-eyed Elliott responded: "I just can't thank all you guys enough for showing up here. I'm a little overwhelmed by it. I love you all dearly. Bradley, I think it's safe to say that the reason I'm here is because of your film. And I love you too." Among the others Elliott thanked were his wife, actor Katherine Ross, and his "The Ranch" co-star, Ashton Kutcher. Elliott most recently earned SAG Award and a Critics' Choice Award nominations, and won a National Board of Review Award for his performance in "A Star is Born." His other notable film credits include "Mask," "Roadhouse," "The Big Lebowski," "Tombstone," and "Fatal Beauty."
